Hill Pottery Potter Dan Hill has been involved in the pottery craft for over 25 years and during that time has developed a personal style and approach to clay work. An appreciation for Chinese and Japanese historical pottery, with its quiet beauty, as well as the robust utilitarian pots of the 20th century British studio potters has influenced Dan's work. Dan combines these influences with his contemporary use of design and surface treatment to create a unique style of pottery that has a timeless beauty and functionality. A custom built Soda-Vapour glaze kiln is used by Dan to produce a wide range of functional and one-of-a-kind stoneware and porcelain pottery at his studio in Wilno, ON. Dan's studio is open to the public during the Madawaska Studio Tour, which takes place annually on the weekend before Thanksgiving, or by appointment at other times. Dan's current work is available at The Wilno Garden Gallery. |
